The following awards are presented to deserving individuals and/or groups at the Awards Banquet during the annual fall conference. Nomination forms are due to the Awards and recognition chairperson by August 15th.
Education Student of the Year
Presented to an outstanding teacher candidate who completed his/her student teaching during
the previous academic year. Criteria include innovative and exemplary practice, active involvement
in professional organizations, and demonstrated leadership abilities.

Cooperating Teacher of the Year
Presented to an outstanding cooperating teacher who hosted a student teacher during the
previous academic year. Criteria include demonstrated exemplary ability and effort in the
supervision of field experience students including model teaching and exemplary supervisory
behaviors.

Exemplary Service to the Teaching Profession
Presented to an individual or group that has shown exceptional service to the education
profession during the previous academic year(s). This person(s) will have unique or extraordinary
accomplishments in education; and/or active leadership in education at the local, state, and
national level; and/or focused public attention on the need for improvement and better support
of education.
